HSY collection ‘Believe’ was the Finale of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013
[Lahore: April 30 2013] The Pakistan Fashion Design Council in collaboration with Sunsilk presented the final day of the sixth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013. In keeping with the objective of furthering fashion retail and synergistic high end design, textile manufacturers and buyers, fashion week included ramp shows by leading retail labels as well as textile houses along with a fully functional, state of the art exhibition area. The final day featured four High-Street fashion shows, an emerging talent show featuring the work of six up and coming fashion designers and seven designer prét-a-porter shows.

The duo of mother & daughter, Nargis kiani & Nida Tapal, with their label Delphi showcased fascinating pret collection on the 3rd day of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4). Nida Tapal and Nargis Kiani’s collection – ‘Pythia’ – named after the priestess of Apollo at Delphi, is the climax of the label Delphi’s journey to date. As Pythias brought to light Apollo’s will to those on earth, this collection brings to light some of the most intricate workmanship this country has to offer, in a modern package. Working its way into chic coats, tunics and cocktail dresses, Pythia showcases crochet’s global appeal. It also contains smart eastern wear, where traditional methods of crochet are amped up, integrating it with lux embellishments such as pearls, metals and regal silks. Wardha Saleem‘s “Folk Play” wrapped up Day 1 of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4). Hailing from Hyderabad, the city of culture and colors, Wardha’s collection was inspired by the traditional Lattoo and Ghulail, and everything colorful. Stylish arrangements of cuts were merge with the bright dynamic colors. Wardha managed to score another triumph with another superb collection. Fashion Pakistan Week 4 starts 21st October 2012

The 11th Lux Style Awards 2012 were held in Expo center Karachi on 10th July, 2012 with awards presented in Fashion, Music, Film & television categories.
The 11th Lux Style Awards 2012 presented a Green carpet rather than Red following a certain theme. However, as the stars started appearing at the venue, attention shifted towards these dazzling, glamorous & stylish celebrities. The red carpet was hosted by Moomal Sheikh, daughter of actor Javed Sheikh. Sanam Chaudhri & Umair Tabani were adjudged Best dressed female and male at red carpet respectively. Noticeable celebrities were Bushra Ansari, Jia Ali, Mahira Khan, Aamina Sheikh, Mohib Mirza, Supermodels Ayyan, Hira Tareen, Konain, Rabia Butt, Designers Sanam Chaudhri, Wardha Saleem, controversial Mathira, Meera along with many others. Wardha Saleem mesmerized everyone with her vibrant colored “Sinned” collection on day 3 of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 3). The Warda Saleem label signifies reviving antiquated traditions by fusing indigenous embroidery, vibrant colours and traditonal printing techniques with a modern silhouette. In Sindh, lies the barren desert of Thar, the legendary home of Marvi where the epic love story of self denial unfolds. The collection “SINNED“, unlike Marvi gives into indulgence. Using vibrant colored cottons, traditional hand block printing techniques have been used to create exclusive prints with embellishment.
