Uth Records Season 2 – Rahim Saranjam (Episode 7)
0Rahim Saranjam is the last artist on Ufone Uth Records Season 2. Hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Rahim is a self-taught musician. Rahim takes his inspiration from a wide musical repertoire ranging from the now iconic bands of the Seventies to traditional classical musicians like Javed Bashir and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rahim’s personal musical preference is mostly dominated by Rock and Blues. Rahim performs his original track “Afsos”, the poetry is penned down by legendary Ahmed Faraz. Other musicians that collaborated in this song are Bradley D’Souza on Bass guitar and Rakae Jamil on sitar. Commenting on becoming a musician and his experience at the Ufone Uth Records 2.0 platform Rahim said: “It was quite difficult for me personally to choose a musical career as it is not easily accepted amongst my family. But with my determination to follow my dreams, I am committed to making unforgettable original music for everyone to enjoy. I am confident that with the help of Ufone Uth Records 2.0 team and guest musicians like Rakae and Bradley our country’s true colours and potential will be brought to light.” With this episode the journey of Uth Records season 2 comes to an end. Uth Records Season 2 – //orangenoise (Episode 6)
1//orangenoise is the fifth talent on Ufone Uth Records season 2 which has come to spotlight. A Karachi based unique band consisting of four musicians: Daniel Arthur Panjwaneey on bass and vocals, Danial Hyatt on drums, Faizan Reidinger on synths and guitar with vocals by Talha Asim Wynne, who also plays the guitar. Faizan and Daniel are also part of band Mole. In Uth Records //orangenoise perform their original track “Chaser”. On the inspiration behind the song //Orangenoise said “social situations are the biggest inspiration behind the song’s lyrics.” With Chaser, they aim to highlight superficiality in society today and how the gap between one’s pretensions and one’s inner self is constantly widening. 0Sara Haider, a Karachi based musician, is oozing with musical talent which you are going to witness in this episode (5th Episode) of Ufone Uth Records season 2. As an artist, Sara continues to be inspired by the likes of Faiz, Rumi, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Simon & Garfunkle, The Police, Lauryn Hill, Nayyara Noor, Strings, The Beatles, John Mayer, Nazia Hassan, Stevie Nicks, Geeta Dutt, Phoenix, Adele, Imogen heap, and Pakistan’s very own Zeb and Haniya. She is currently working on various musical projects and to this end is collaborating with composer/musician Ahsan Bari as part of Nritaal creating compositions and melodies inspired by the poetry of Hazrat Amir Khusro and Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Her music is unconfined in both melody and lyric yet aficionado’s will undoubtedly detect the evocative strains of Sufi music within it. As she gets an opportunity to be in the limelight due to Uth Records, she’s excited and is now believing to take music more seriously. Sara performs her very own track “Main tere saath hoon” supported by her band members Ali Haider (Bass) and Imam Hamdani (Lead Guitars). Sara is also assisted by musicians Gumby for percussion’s, Sameer Ahmed for bass and Hildegunn Oisethon for trumpet. Check out the Episode 5 below.
