Misbah-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s latest Test captain, has hit back at criticism over his surprising elevation, arguing that he hasn’t even had the opportunity yet to show his capabilities as a leader. Misbah has at least two Tests as captain against South Africa in the UAE next month.

For the second successive year, Aleem Dar has adjudged Best Umpire at the ICC Awards. The new ‘Bigg Boss’ TV series has run into trouble with the Shiv Sena and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) even as it has barely begun, with both parties warning against the participation of two Pakistanis in the show.
Mohsin Khan, Pakistan’s chief selector, is concerned about finding replacements for Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif, the trio suspended by the ICC in the spot-fixing scandal, for a tough, upcoming series against South Africa.
