1st Hum Awards 2013 – Winners List with Event Pictures
0HUM Network held its Servis 1st HUM Awards here yesterday at Karachi Expo Centre, an event that will be remembered for a long time as a star-studded, entertainment-packed, brilliantly executed and heart-warming one. Held to acknowledge and honor all those in the entertainment industry who have been a pillar of support to HUM in its eight-year long journey of success, the event was very well-received by all who attended.

Right from the word go the tempo was set with the red carpet area welcoming the guests and the glitterati and mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres being passed around.
As guests entered the performance area to be seated they were spellbound by the awe-inspiring, massive, and beautifully decorated and lit stage. Hardly had they got over their surprise that the opening act was announced which featured the inimitable Abida Parveen.
Mikaal Zulfiqar and Mahira Khan then came in to host the first segment which was of Music Awards. Anwar Maqsood was the very apt choice to present the Lifetime Achievement Award which went out posthumously to Moin Akhtar. The next performance to enthrall audiences was by Humayun Saeed and troupe who performed a premiere dance from his film Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi. This was followed by Mikaal and Mahira announcing the next category of awards which were of fashion. Much to everyone’s delight LED Butterflies performed next with their light-studded outfits literally lighting up the stage, and marking the entry for the next award segment which was of Special Recognition Awards, hosted by Bushra Ansari.

Wardha Saleem‘s “Folk Play” wrapped up Day 1 of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4). Hailing from Hyderabad, the city of culture and colors, Wardha’s collection was inspired by the traditional Lattoo and Ghulail, and everything colorful. Stylish arrangements of cuts were merge with the bright dynamic colors. Wardha managed to score another triumph with another superb collection. The 3rd and last day of Pantene Bridal Couture Week Lahore 2012 opened to a packed house with Ahmad Bilal showing his bridal line highlighting the beauty of autumn colours and concentrating on different textures and volume. His showstopper was donned by Fiza Ali. Tabassum Mughal who had made her debut on the ramp with the last PBCW in Karachi, and had become an instant hit, showcased her royal collection inspired by both the Victorian age and the Mughal era.

Most exciting and a terrific designer from Pakistan, Nomi Ansari, is a true master in exotic formal collections. I have been his fan from the beginning but recently developed a new respect for him after his finale at the Fashion Pakistan Week 3. And just a few days later he mesmerized the audience at BCW 2012 with the rich and heavily worked collection to bring an end to the first day of Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Karachi edition. Nomi Ansari’s Collection at Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 3 – Day 3)

One of the big names from the Pakistani Fashion industry, Nomi Ansari ended the day 3 of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 3) with cheers and applause. His collection was inspired and specially made for some of the most beloved Pakistani celebrities including Maheen Khan, Frieha Altaf, Shamaeel Ansari, Saba Ansari, Meera, Maria Wasti, Sanam Agha, Sadia Imam, Nida Yasir, Ayesha Omar and others who modeled for the designer on the ramp. Ahmed ali butt from EP performed “Im sexy and I know it”. Nomi paid his tribute to the stars and showed that he is able to take one step forward and go from catwalk fashion to pure entertainment. Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Karachi edition kicks off on 13th April 2012 and is off to a rollicking start. Organized by Style360, the beautifully decorated lounge and red carpet area, complete with fresh flower arrangements set the tone for the evening. The ramp decorated with Roman arches, picture windows, beautiful chandeliers, statues, and fresh flower arrangements in huge Grecian urns all helped to give a surreal look to the venue.
