12th Annual LUX Style Awards Nominations list celebrates the best of Pakistan’s Music, TV and Fashion
KARACHI: The Awards office of the 12th Annual LUX Style Awards announced nominations in 22 categories in the field of television, music and fashion in Karachi yesterday. The three distinct juries that debated and voted for the TV, Music and Fashion nominations had an intensive and challenging task to narrow down to five nominations per category.
The Film Jury refrained from suggesting any 2012 release for nomination this year.
The eight TV nominations were divided into satellite and terrestrial for the Best Serial, Best Actor/Actresses categories. The final winner for each of these categories is decided by Viewer’s Choice votes while Nominees for Best Director and Writer Awards will be decided via Jury Votes. Hum Tv’s mega blockbuster hit Humsafar has a presence in all relevant categories as it is now eligible for inclusion this year as against 2011 as per the rules of the LUX Style Awards. The competition in all TV categories is expected to be intense.

The 11th Lux Style Awards 2012 were held in Expo center Karachi on 10th July, 2012 with awards presented in Fashion, Music, Film & television categories.
The 11th Lux Style Awards 2012 presented a Green carpet rather than Red following a certain theme. However, as the stars started appearing at the venue, attention shifted towards these dazzling, glamorous & stylish celebrities. The red carpet was hosted by Moomal Sheikh, daughter of actor Javed Sheikh. Sanam Chaudhri & Umair Tabani were adjudged Best dressed female and male at red carpet respectively. Noticeable celebrities were Bushra Ansari, Jia Ali, Mahira Khan, Aamina Sheikh, Mohib Mirza, Supermodels Ayyan, Hira Tareen, Konain, Rabia Butt, Designers Sanam Chaudhri, Wardha Saleem, controversial Mathira, Meera along with many others. The only prestigious event of the country on such large scale is the Lux Style Awards which completes its 11th run tonight. A much needed Entertainment event that shifts the focus from all the worse that is happening in the country to glamour, fun, elegance and style.
One of the most prominent feature of this year’s awards was the increase in the award categories to 26 this year. It just shows how Lux Style Awards now are one of the premiere awards of the country. This year awards were presented to the Pakistan’s best in Fashion, Music, Film and Television.
Before the main show was the Red Carpet event, which was a green carpet event instead following a simple theme. All the dazzling celebrities made their way for the event as Moomal Sheikh, daughter of Javed sheikh, hosted the Green carpet. Controversial Mathira showed up in Ali Xeeshan’s floral print long dress with butterfly shaped broaches at the top in the front. Aamina Sheikh and Mohib Mirza also embraced the event as Aamina wore Maheen Karim’s gold outfit and Mohib Mirza in three piece black suit from Zara. Supermodels Ayyan, Konain and Hira Tareen also appeared on the Green carpet. Other noticeable celebrities were Bushra Ansari, Sharmeen Obaid, Filmstar Sana, Meera, Faisal Qureshi, Sadia Imam, Mahira Khan and many more.
11th Lux Style Awards 2012 – Nominations Announced for 26 Categories
1KARACHI: Nominations for the 11th LUX Style Awards were announced in Karachi this week. The Awards office of Pakistan’s most credible and coveted Awards released nominations in 26 categories in the genres of Film, Music, Television and Fashion.
The LSA Film Jury voted for Bol across all three categories. Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol was the sole film that made the grade and qualified as a bonafide entrant for an Award that is given out for excellence in cinema.
With the Pakistan music scene limping back from the fallow years, the competition for nomination slots was once again hotly debated. As a concrete nod to experimentation and creating new boundaries for musical excellence a category was added to accommodate emerging talent in music.
Television was as usual the most vibrant of all the genres with PTV, Hum TV and Geo Entertainment sharing most of the nomination slots for serials and related categories.
Public voting for TV and Music categories to decide the winner for the 11th LUX Style Awards will commence later this month. Fashion Jury members will be voting for the ten Fashion Categories.
The LUX Style Awards for Excellence in Cinema, TV, Music and Fashion will be held midsummer and aired at a later date on national TV.

The stars at the 10th Lux Style Awards showcase their style at the Red Carpet event before the ceremony. The red carpet event was hosted by Mathira, Amna Ilyas was judged as the best dressed female celebrity on the red carpet, wearing Fahad Hussayn’s creation, a beautiful blue gown.
