FnkAsia Pret Collection at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 Day 1

Design label FnkAsia presented the third prét show on the 1st day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013, with their “East of Bengal” collection inspired by the lush rain-forests, tree plantations and ancient culture of Bengal. The central silhouette of the collection was the sari, which had been reconstructed to make it look less tribal and more like a modern garment. A lot of silk, draped in layers, was used in diverse weaves to retain sheen, essential for a luxe feel. The collection also had splashes of intense prints blending into the bright palette. Embroideries and beaded embellishment, a symbol of the FnkAsia signature, had been emphasized within blouses and bustiers. The colors used for the collection were inspired by the Bengali forest’s foliage and wild life; the palette blended shades of sap green and rainwater blue towards murjaan (coral) and sindhoori laal (vermillion) that represented the early morning, blazing sun. Lux Style Awards 2012 – Winners List with Event Pictures
8The 11th Lux Style Awards 2012 were held in Expo center Karachi on 10th July, 2012 with awards presented in Fashion, Music, Film & television categories.

The only prestigious event of the country on such large scale is the Lux Style Awards which completes its 11th run tonight. A much needed Entertainment event that shifts the focus from all the worse that is happening in the country to glamour, fun, elegance and style.
One of the most prominent feature of this year’s awards was the increase in the award categories to 26 this year. It just shows how Lux Style Awards now are one of the premiere awards of the country. This year awards were presented to the Pakistan’s best in Fashion, Music, Film and Television.
Before the main show was the Red Carpet event, which was a green carpet event instead following a simple theme. All the dazzling celebrities made their way for the event as Moomal Sheikh, daughter of Javed sheikh, hosted the Green carpet. Controversial Mathira showed up in Ali Xeeshan’s floral print long dress with butterfly shaped broaches at the top in the front. Aamina Sheikh and Mohib Mirza also embraced the event as Aamina wore Maheen Karim’s gold outfit and Mohib Mirza in three piece black suit from Zara. Supermodels Ayyan, Konain and Hira Tareen also appeared on the Green carpet. Other noticeable celebrities were Bushra Ansari, Sharmeen Obaid, Filmstar Sana, Meera, Faisal Qureshi, Sadia Imam, Mahira Khan and many more.
