Act 2 was opened by Sublime by Sara at the first day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013, who presented her collection titled ‘NOW, Summer Sublime 2013’, inspired by designer Sara Shahid’s belief in the importance of living for the here and now – a desire to live for the moment. With ‘NOW! Summer Sublime 2013’ the designer invited audiences to step into a world of bright and bold colors, showcasing a heady mix and balance of femininity and funk, the loud with the soft and the neons with the neutrals. Trends included in this collection ranged from neon references, stud embellishments, floral and striped prints to cropped jackets and pants. A brand minimalist by nature, Sara Shahid’s structural emphasis for ‘NOW! Summer Sublime 2013’ remained on tailored cuts and drape, resting on the brands ethos of the power of understated glamour. [Lahore: April 27 2013] The sixth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week officially commenced yesterday marking the fourth consistent year of the prêt a porter platform. In keeping with the objective of furthering fashion retail and synergizing high end design, textile manufacturers and buyers, fashion week includes ramp shows by leading retail labels as well as textile houses along with a fully functional, state of the art exhibition area. Day-1 marked the first day of the afternoon Voile Shows with eight designer prét-a-porter shows later in the evening.

[Press Release, Karachi] Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2013 organized by Style360 kicked off to a rollicking start yesterday, on 19th April 2013. The beautifully decorated lounge and red carpet area, complete with fresh flower arrangements set the tone for the evening. The ramp created on straight, modern lines gave a beautifully contemporary look in marked contrast to the more classic sets normally used at PBCW. Playing with layers and lights and images of nature the set was stark white so as not to detract attention from the clothes and gave a surreal look to the venue.

Last designer to showcase on the ramp of first day at Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Lahore eidtion was Kuki Concepts. Zahid Khan is the incredible genius behind Kuki Concepts, a collection of western and eastern wear that is dreamy and lyrical. The fabric used for women’s wear is mostly Chantilly lace and chamois with touches of bling. Kuki Concepts has held 50 showings from Pakistan to the US and England. The show came to a vibrant and impressive end with the rich and heavily worked collection by Kuki Concepts. Highly appreciated by the full house audience present at the venue. The duo of Asifa & Nabeel was the sixth designer on the ramp for the day 1 of Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Lahore edition. The label Asifa & Nabeel was established 13 years ago and is renowned and respected for its bridal, prêt and couture lines. Asifa & Nabeel adopts a simple viewpoint that translates very dominantly in its design interpretations “the celebration of womanhood”. The designer duo showcased pretty much the same collection as they did at PLBW 2012. However, some heavy bridals were pure classic and the models carried them out perfectly. The only Indian designer this year, Charu Parashar opened the 2nd segment of Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 day 1. As a “new generation” designer, Charu Parashar is constantly motivated to take the exotic Indian craftsmanship and ancient printing techniques to the highest levels of luxury. The world of luxury couture in India has its own imprints – flowing hemlines playing peek-a-boo with bling, and fitted forms creating magic with the beauty that is the Indian woman. Charu Parashar showed an embroidery-based bridal collection. The designer introduced Indian design aesthetics with fabulous cuts and lace trimmings on bridals. Before the closing of first segment at Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Lahore edition, renowned designer Maria B presented her “Ara Collection” on the 1st day. Maria B. is one of the largest manufacturers and retailers of women’s fashion in Pakistan. Her eponymous brand was launched with a vision to revolutionize women’s retail in the country and to create Pakistan’s first women’s fashion brand. Her collection was impressive yet could have been better. Few hits and misses, to go with eye catching angarkha that Nadia Hussain modeled.
