Pakistani origin British boxer Amir Khan tied the knot with US student Faryal Makhdoom this weekend at Waldorf Astoria New York. The ceremony was cultural where Amir khan wore a turban and a red & golden sherwani robe. Stunning Faryal Makhdoom donned a extravagantly embellished lehnga choli with heavy embroidery and zardozi work. King khan also showed his dance moves on bollywood tunes while according to the New York post the wedding day cost was about $1 million. The couple would celebrate walima ceremony in Bolton, UK next week. Following the ceremony, Faryal wrote:
‘Mrs. Khan. Last night was like a dream, truly amazing. Thanks to everyone that participated, really meant a lot x Now ready for the UK wedding!!❤.’

Gumby Part Ways with Noori, Once again!

Reunited about two years ago, Noori boys original line up disbands once again as drummer Gumby (Louis J. Pinto) part ways. Stating the circumstances and the ground realities in a formal status update on facebook, Gumby says this time it’s for good. Noori hasn’t come up with an album since almost 8 years. 12th Annual LUX Style Awards Nominations list celebrates the best of Pakistan’s Music, TV and Fashion
KARACHI: The Awards office of the 12th Annual LUX Style Awards announced nominations in 22 categories in the field of television, music and fashion in Karachi yesterday. The three distinct juries that debated and voted for the TV, Music and Fashion nominations had an intensive and challenging task to narrow down to five nominations per category.
The Film Jury refrained from suggesting any 2012 release for nomination this year.
The eight TV nominations were divided into satellite and terrestrial for the Best Serial, Best Actor/Actresses categories. The final winner for each of these categories is decided by Viewer’s Choice votes while Nominees for Best Director and Writer Awards will be decided via Jury Votes. Hum Tv’s mega blockbuster hit Humsafar has a presence in all relevant categories as it is now eligible for inclusion this year as against 2011 as per the rules of the LUX Style Awards. The competition in all TV categories is expected to be intense.

Filmstar Meera to contest upcoming Elections

Filmstar Meera is all ready to jump in to politics as she is likely to contest in the upcoming elections due to be held in May. Meera’s mother Shafqat Zarar Bokhari has also filed her own nomination papers as well to contest in the polls. Speaking to Media sources, Meera’s mother revealed that Meera will run for Punjab Assembly seat, most probably from Lahore. Meera will contest the election from the ticket of Justice Party, a recently formed group by Lawyers.
