The second day of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4) was opened by enchanting Sanam Chaudhri. Inspired by ‘Shibori’, a Japanese resist-dye technique, Sanam Chaudhri’s new collection – ‘Kage’ – is resplendently edgy! Featuring bold hues of indigo and white, spun around shades of burnt orange, fiery red and black, KAGE echoes of a purer age, whilst marching to an electric beat. Combining casual and refined textures, from cotton to satin, this line holds an international appeal. Pieces can be combined in any way, for any occasion, to suit all – especially the woman who rocks her own world! Most of the pieces in her collection were paired with a broad shiny belt in red or silver that cinched the waist and broke down the straight silhouette. Wardha Saleem‘s “Folk Play” wrapped up Day 1 of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4). Hailing from Hyderabad, the city of culture and colors, Wardha’s collection was inspired by the traditional Lattoo and Ghulail, and everything colorful. Stylish arrangements of cuts were merge with the bright dynamic colors. Wardha managed to score another triumph with another superb collection. Ishtiaq Afzal Khan presented collection titled “Desert Rose” for his debut at Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4) Day 1. The collection was bold with a display camel brown and green Western wear with a pitch of hot pink. Ishtiaq Afzal has the tendency to play with flowy silhouettes and cuts, his collection had it all from tops to coats, shirts and jumpsuits. Nargis Hafeez couture, fifth designer of the first of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4), is a designer label by Nabeela Adeel. Known for her ability to work with traditional patterns and energetic colors, combine with an arrangement of cuts and fabric. Her collection was all traditional with great embroidery along with detail embellishment. Nargiz Hafeez’s Collection at Fashion Pakistan Week included embroidered shirts along with trousers, shorts and churidar pajamas. Her Collection was highly appreciated by the audience. Traditional gotas and embroidery was her signature style. The collection included fully worked bridal shirts to beautiful fully embroidered shirts with patiyala shalwars. The second segment of 4th Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 Day 1 was opened by Zahid Khan’s Kuki Concepts. His collection was inspired by the work of painter Frank Stella, a minimalist and abstract art painter. He was able to catch the audience in a groove as his cutting edge designs and colorful patterns were perfectly fused with well thought out background music. Kuki Concepts was impressive in the 3rd season of FPW and the label didn’t disappoint the fashionista’s here either. Zahid Khan is confident of his masterful cuts and innovation, and he showcased that well by presenting a variation of fabrics and trends. Fourth Designer of the Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4) Day 1 was Ayesha Hasan. Her aesthetic leans towards classic traditional style producing timeless pieces. The first piece was in deep green chiffon outfit which was totally simple but a little bit of embellishments at the belt was making the dress outstanding. Ayesha Hasan’s pieces were all beautiful and perfectly made out of silk, chiffon with a blend of traditional and western wear. She showcased a wide range of gowns and cutting edge designs. Maimoona H, third designer collection of the first day of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012 (FPW 4), is a concept brand, which plays on extremes and opposites. A label created by Maimoona Arshad, the designs play with contrasts such as masculine & feminine, soft & severe, constructed and deconstructed. She showcased a luxury pret wear collection where color palette combines strong dark shades with elegant and pure luxury fabrics such as silk, chiffon and French lace. Two are three pieces from her collection were stand out and actually appealing and pleasing to the eye. The rest were ordinary Pret formal wear.
