The sixth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week officially commenced yesterday marking the fourth consistent year of the prêt a porter platform. Day-1 marked the first day of the afternoon Voile Shows with eight designer prét-a-porter shows later in the evening. The Voile Show segment of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 Day 1 was opened by Chen One who presented their ‘Pareesa Lawn Collection 2013’. Designed by acclaimed fashion designer Sahar Atif, the collection was the brand’s contemporary take on the classic summer fabric and featured an ethnic line of prints employing sub-continental embroideries and motifs. Designer Sahar Atif has endeavored to keep the collection in harmony with international fashion trends by utilizing graphic prints in black and white, with splashes of color to add a dramatic flair to the outfits.

As announced earlier this April, with their 6th consecutive prêt a porter Fashion Week, PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 will be showcasing a diversity of Luxury/Prèt collections from 47 designers, brands and textile houses over a period of 4 days, defining and presenting trends for 2013, focusing specifically on the regions’ long hot summer months. HUM Network held its Servis 1st HUM Awards here yesterday at Karachi Expo Centre, an event that will be remembered for a long time as a star-studded, entertainment-packed, brilliantly executed and heart-warming one. Held to acknowledge and honor all those in the entertainment industry who have been a pillar of support to HUM in its eight-year long journey of success, the event was very well-received by all who attended.
Right from the word go the tempo was set with the red carpet area welcoming the guests and the glitterati and mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres being passed around.

Anwar Maqsood was the very apt choice to present the Lifetime Achievement Award which went out posthumously to Moin Akhtar. The next performance to enthrall audiences was by Humayun Saeed and troupe who performed a premiere dance from his film Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi. This was followed by Mikaal and Mahira announcing the next category of awards which were of fashion. Much to everyone’s delight LED Butterflies performed next with their light-studded outfits literally lighting up the stage, and marking the entry for the next award segment which was of Special Recognition Awards, hosted by Bushra Ansari.
