[Lahore: April 30 2013] The Pakistan Fashion Design Council in collaboration with Sunsilk presented the final day of the sixth PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013. In keeping with the objective of furthering fashion retail and synergistic high end design, textile manufacturers and buyers, fashion week included ramp shows by leading retail labels as well as textile houses along with a fully functional, state of the art exhibition area. The final day featured four High-Street fashion shows, an emerging talent show featuring the work of six up and coming fashion designers and seven designer prét-a-porter shows.
Staying true to their tradition of launching new talent into the mainstream fashion business, the PFDC also introduced upcoming new talent with a separate show, in collaboration with media lounge hosts and associate sponsors ZONG, titled “ZONG Promotes Emerging Talent” which took place on the final day of the fashion extravaganza. A manifestation of ZONG’s commitment to promote and nurture emerging talent, the telecommunication brand in collaboration with PFDC introduced six new and upcoming fashion talents.
The 6th PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 also marked the exciting new addition of a High-Street Fashion Showcase highlighting contemporary affordable ready-to-wear apparel for mass audiences.
The High-Street segment of the final day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 was opened by fashion label MK Nation by Karma who showcased their high-street collection titled ‘Ode to Lahore’. The next show was by Kayseria who showcased their high street collection titled ‘Kayseria Prèt’. With Kayseria’s Prêt a Porter fashion showcase, the brand debuted its much anticipated Prèt wear. The third High-Street show of the day was presented by COCO who revealed a women’s wear collection with twenty diverse designs based in pure cotton, for the summer. The final High-Street show of the day was presented by Adnan Pardesy for The Working Woman who showcased a collection of women’s wear for Spring/Summer 2013 titled ‘Inclined’.
The final day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013’s Prèt Show was opened by designer Faiza Samee who showcased her Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The second Prèt show of the day was by Maheen Karim who presented her Spring Summer 2013 collection ‘Paradise’, which was the maiden foray of the label into the world of ready-to-wear digital prints. Next on ramp were six designers promoted by Zong at Zong Promotes Emerging Talent segment. Mahgul for Nasreen Shaikh, Schehrezade Sohail Muzammil, Syed Mohsin Ali, Daniyal Mubarik, Arooj Ahmed and Hamza Bokhari showcased their pieces in the segment. Following the ‘ZONG Promotes Emerging Talent’ segment, acclaimed design house the Ali Xeeshan Theater Studio presented their Spring/Summer 2013 collection for PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week titled ‘Jalsa-e-Ishq’.
Act 2 of the final day of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week was opened by acclaimed designer label Khaadi Khaas. The second show of Act 2 was presented by Muse who presented their Spring/Summer 2013 collection inspired by the romantic spirit of a beautiful woman and European gardens palaces. Following Muse’s presentation was renowned designer Wardha Saleem who showcased her Spring/Summer Collection titled ‘Doodle Junction’. Day-4’s finale was presented by the inimitable HSY who showcased his Spring/Summer 2013 Collection titled ‘Believe’ in collaboration with Italian watchmaker ToyWatch.
On the final day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week, title sponsors Sunsilk unveiled an exclusively designed collectible shampoo bottle in collaboration with design label Khaadi Khaas, in addition to facilitating the red carpet, green room and backstage areas at the event. Associate sponsors ZONG hosted the media lounge. In addition to being a beverage partner, Diet Pepsi also facilitated the live video streaming of the event worldwide. Popular food brand Magnum operated a custom-made “Magnum Bar”. PFDC’s official bank, Bank Alfalah, hosted a custom-designed VIP lounge with Dunhill hosting a lounge of their own at the Fashion Week. All these activities will continued through all days of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week. With Nokia and Daraz as associate sponsors, all these unique activities were first-time endeavors undertaken at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week and were demonstrative of the growing acclaim the platform has attained. Further, Day-4 of PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 was styled by the creative team at Maram & Aabroo with male model styling by Khawar Riaz.
