Trying new things is a good habit. After trying vocals in “Bachana” and “Toh Kia hua”, Bilal Khan left comping and tried Rambha Sambha in his new song named “Mil Hee Gaya” from his new upcoming album “Maktoob”. “Mil hee gaya” has a soulful start with a light pad of Dholak which has recently been done in Coke Studio song “Daanah Pah Daanah” too. That starting with Dholak makes listener feel like there is something new being done by a pop singer but as the song moves forward it makes listener remember the song “Dhadke Jiya” by Call Band. We can also say that a song is inspired by so many Pakistani song which is not a bad thing. It is good to listen a cocktail. There is off beat sting runs in the whole song which is AR Rahman’s genre. That is the reason he declared his Album as “Maktoob” because he is a reader of so many music “books”. This song really belongs to a “Book Reader” like Bilal Khan.

Remixes of “Mere Anganay mai” and “Chamak Challo” are being sung live by Bilal Khan on stage so many times. This habit of our young singer tells people that he wants everything to have a new face. Rohail Hyatt has now selected Bilal Khan for Coke Studio Season 5 so there really is “something” in his voice that a Maestro selected him for his life project 2nd time.

Good element in this song is that he used that beat which is rarely used by new composers. This beat has a history of Pakistani old Music composers like Khuaaja Khursheed Anwar, Rasheed Attre and many more, but 4/4 doesn’t mean that the singer should run the song with the beat. You may find so many ugly composition in a good make-over in Bilal Khan’s new creativity then you will proudly say “Mil Hee Gaya”. Fans are looking forward for more creativity in Coke Studio 5. We hope Bilal Khan will be “Bilal Khan” in the upcoming project.

Have a nice day!
